Actually I am lucky in the fact that weight distribution seems pretty even although it never went where it was really needed lol
Sadly I know I am fat so don't need a peer reviewed article to confirm it so you lucked out there no peep show for you

Oh but if ever a doctor asks to bring in a couple of interns in to look at you for the sake of science ASK "HOW MANY IS A COUPLE?" or else you will find yourself naked in front of 20+ people

 

That's a normal Saturday night for some folk around here I imagine ..... lol

Fatman, you've found another one. No sense of smell from birth & I'd love to hear how you got on with your juice quest or can you link me to a better thread on your findings. Being a couple years have passed I'd like to know what you're vaping now.

 

Welcome fellow Anosmia sufferer ... P.S. mine is as a result of Kallmanns Syndrome ... dont know your circumstances , but ask your doc about it just in case?

Now onto Juices ... not a lot to report actually ( unfortunately )
I find I have better success with e-liquid that is made from extracts such as some of the T-juice line ( as answered in another thread ) but will list them here

-T-Juice Afro Dizziac ( strongest one , complex Anise ) however as I vape it at a high percentage 20% or so , it tends to numb the mouth after more than a day or so , and can indeed attack the lining ... best for me to vape sparingly .
- T-juice Red Astaire ... tobaccoey taste with a subtle aniseed inhale and a nice eucalyptus exhale I mix this a little milder at 15%
-T-juice Minty the Toff ... really faint caramel for me with the slightest mint ... but it rounds out a dirty unflavoured mix nicely

Top of the pops goes to

MAD MURDOCKS PLUID ! .... brilliant complex vape , the one that stunned me and started me again on my flavour trials ... the first e-liquid I actually "tasted" rather than had a guess at what it was like ....

MM Maha Ras however I got nothing from as even tho an extract its based on floral aromatics .

And really that's about it unfortunately .... some liquids I get the faintest hint of something , but not worth going back for ....

Oh I should add that ANY tobacco extract be it a WTA or NET works for me ( again be.comse its an extract of a natural flavour , not just aromatics )
So funnily enough cheap arse charlie chinese tobaccos work ... go figure

But mainly these days I am on the plain unflavoured , I find 12 mg or so gives me a peppery tinge thats quite liveable with ... also of course menthols but I am sick of them lol

I for one am glad you dug up this old thread! AVF history! The fatman was a newbie! This was a great read, and made me think of my Mum.

She had no sense of smell, and was also a great cook. I think I remember telling this to fatman before. She loved tomatoes though, she used to sit there with a tomato, and a salt shaker, eating it like an Apple, adding a new layer of salt with every bite.

She lost her sense of smell as a child through illness. I can't remember what it was? Chicken pox? Measles? It might even have been Meningitis?

She could tell if something was burning, and sometimes could sense other strong smells. She used to say she could "smell it through her eyes"?

 

Well my situation is this...by the time I realised I was missing something as a child I told my parents & they didn't believe me. I carried on life pretending to be able to smell to all but close mates until I was 18. After eavesdropping on a conversation with a mate my mother finally said "were you serious about that". So I've never really looked into it & I'm 40 now. I did approach a doctor at about 25 & explained my situation to which he asked me if I could taste, I told him that yes I could & in a life changing moment he informed me that I could actually smell. Sooooo.......from there I asked another doctor at age 35 & he told me that it could be 1 of 2 things. I'd need to have an operation to find out which one it was & one would be curable through a further operation & the other was incurable. So I just heard operation & left it there. I don't miss something I've never had.

Back to vaping. I do prefer to buy from canuk vendors so I might give this minty toff a go. HOV is on my shortlist so I'll grab some next purchase. How did you get on with TY4? I like it, not as good as Eastwood but a close second. Being that we don't talk about Indigo around here I can live with it. I was hoping for a bit more than mint but tonight's reading has been enlighting.

I better stop giving hardware advice now I know my flavour chasing issues are not hardware related lol.

 

Yer I live alone & have eaten my share of burnt food. Smoke alarm often tells me when it's time to turn the meat.

 

I find this subject fascinating. When my allergies were at there worst all the anti inflammatorys and antihistamines and other drugs knocked out my sense of smell and taste. Then I switched to vaping and I was able to stop taking all the medication and they have come back but I can only vape eliquids that give mouth sensation (menthols and koolada and mints).

 

So what's your ADV?

 

Menthol eucalyptus strong 18% with a 70/30 ratio. I have just added that DIY sub zero. Which is all koolada and menthol with bits of other mints.

 

I'm actually completely in the dark on my condition, I just accepted it. I'd have to have a more in depth conversation with the Fatman who seems to be a guru on the topic with big words & everything. I don't know if our senses are the same & our taste buds the same it'll take a bit more time to tell. I can say garlic? What garlic?

 

I'm sensing a minty theme here. Funnily enough I haven't tried it yet. Definately in my next HOV order though. Mint the Toff. I'm guessing it's gunna blow me away & become a ADV

 

For me it's actually menthols and koolada. Mints by themselves are not enough.

 

Are you doing your own blends? I did dabble a little there but it's a costly exercise to begin with.
