I was wondering do you guys buy sweetener from tfa or other flavour concentrate brands or buy it elsewhere like from a supermarket or make your own? Also what kind of percentages do you use in your mixes I've read it's usually 1-3%?

be a bit careful with sweeteners. they can gunk up your coils and make them last a hell of a lot shorter time. the percentage would depend on the type and brand. i'd start out with the minimum and work up. you can always put more in, but it's a bit hard to take it out once it's in.

Do you use sweetener ? I've bought some of the flavour apprentice one. I've started at 1.5%. Does all sweetener clog coils faster?

I want to get some ethyl maltol. but juice factory are out of stock. Haven't used sweeteners yet but want to give it a go.
I hear you just dissolve 1g in 10ml of pg buy warming and shaking. then use that at 1 to 2%

i tried some sweetener that i got from vapeking. it would just mess up my cartos too quickly, though. i was getting 2, 3 or even 4 weeks out of a carto with out it and maximum a week and a half with it. and i didn't find i enjoyed my vape any more with it, so just gave up on it.

TPA / TFA Cotton Candy Concentrate - Juice Factory

(from that page)This is made from ethyl maltol, diluted to 10% in PG

It is not a strong flavor, since ethyl maltol won't dissolve in PG at higher concentrations. It is used as a mild sweetener and smoother for harsh flavors.

Yes. Sugars don't vapourise so there's only one place for them to go.

It's not necessarily just sweetners that clag coils up, certain flavours have a tendency to do so more than others.

If it is coil clogging you are worried about use simple artificial flavours and not much of them.

Do you think if I keep the juice in the fridge the sweetener will crystallise so I can take it out

Just use it as it is. If it clogs your coils a lot faster, so be it.

Clogged coils are not so much of an issue if you can rebuild your own, or you can clean them (within reason). No need to disassemble, just run the coil under the tap, give it a good flick and if possible blow air through it to get rid of excess water (which also helps to get rid of gunk), then repeat (tap and blow air) and allow them to dry on the bench overnight. I don't dry burn any coils now as they tend to get a grey oxidation on them and this taste carries through. I used dry burn when I first started but learnt the error of my ways.

I don't keep my juice in the fridge, a nice dark cupboard does the trick. Experimenting with liquid stevia from the supermarket and getting good results although I suspect that this is affecting the vapour production a little so I'll probably go back to ethyl malthal, which by the way, the correct mix is 1 gram + 9 mls of pg to get your total of 10 mls. Even cotton candy is good. Haven't tried the sucralose yet so that might be worth a shot first.

Also, yes, some juices will gunk up coils faster than others but that's a small price to pay in this hobby or lifestyle. It's all about experimentation which is half the fun !
    Cheers

Thanks for that info buddy. I have attempted to clean the coils by running under water as you described. I use kanger bdc for my emow mega and I'm not sure if I had left it for too long to attempt cleaning them but I tried to do so and since Im kinda new to vaping (a few months) I was interested to see what the coils looked like after I tried cleaning them so I took it apart and the coils still seemed encrusted in black carbonised stuff so I had thought it was a waste of time trying to clean them. How often do you rinse them? I think from now on I might just try flavours first before deciding if they need a bit of sweetener. Also do you know if brands like tfa add sweetener to their concentrates already or do they just leave it up to the vaper to add it?

Don't keep flavourings in the fridge in plastic. They may absorb flavours from your fridge. The last thing you want is your lovely butterscotch or peach tea having an aftertaste of last night's tuna bake. No worries if your bottles are glass.
