A little while ago, I was looking for an Android app that would do what I wanted it to do and I couldn't quite find it, so I decided to start working on my own since I wanted to learn Android programming anyway.

I've knocked up a basic app that lets me input my base nicotine mix, target values and flavour concentrate percentages, and gives me the recipe I need in millilitres to make up the mix. So far, I'm pretty happy with the results. My next step is to add the ability to save and load recipes so I can easily retrieve them later.

I was wondering, though, is there any interest in developing this app further for other people to use? As in, would other people like to use this? If so, what features would you like to see in it? How would you like it to work, and what could I do to make it better/more useful?

I've attached a couple of screenshots of how it is now, let me know what you think and if there's any interest I might take it further. Any thoughts and feedback would be appreciated.

I was also looking for an Android version of juice me up - so one with support for their recipe file format I reckon would go a long way....

eJuice Me Up is a great Windows app. In fact, I've been comparing my results against it to see if they're right.

As for the file format... I'm not sure how you'd go about copying them across. Maybe I could put an import/export feature in there. Nice idea.

looks awesome. I have noticed on some apps that you can not put in more than 100mg nic base. I use juice me up be.comse i use 150mg

    ps loves the green :)

You can put in up to 999mg nicotine base in the app, but whether you should in real life is entirely up to you.

Just thought I'd add a couple of notes about the things I've tried to do that the other apps I found did not do (or didn't do well):

    - Prevent negative values (eg. don't give you recipes that tell you to add -2.5ml PG)
    - Save and load your preferred de.comlt values for base and target pg/vg/nicotine etc. separately from the flavour percentages

What I'm thinking could happen for future versions:

    - Add a bunch of pre-configured flavours so you can select from a list
    - Add a bunch of pre-configured recipes that you can choose from (I'm currently in discussion with a couple of people about importing a list of decent recipes)
    - Create your own recipes, and maybe share them with the community - maybe with some sort of rating system

Shrug, I really don't know. Anything's possible. What do you want to see? I'm feeling in the mood for a challenge so bring it on and we'll see what happens.

I'll definitely look into this. The eJuice Me Up recipes are just text files and shouldn't be hard to load.

Question, though... The eJuice Me Up files contain the base values as well. For example, if I load the 555 My555 recipe, it tells me I'm starting with 50PG/50VG 100Mg nicotine base which is fine for me, but if I load the Adams Apple recipe, it tells me I'm starting with 100PG/0VG 100Mg base... Which I don't have, so I then have to change everything. Andes Dark is 50PG/50VG 36Mg, so again I have to change it.

Should I just ignore the base values and only load in the actual flavour percentages, allowing you to keep your base de.comlts (which are unique to you) or load in everything and overwrite the whole lot?

Further to the above, my logic is this...

Somewhere in your shed/cupboard/locked .comlt under the stairs, you probably have a bottle of nicotine base, which is mixed the way you want it/bought it. It's probably something like 50PG/50VG 36Mg Nicotine or whatever. That never changes. It might be a litre, 500Ml, 250Ml or whatever it is and the PG/VG mix, nicotine level etc. might be different but that is what you have and it is always the same for you, regardless of what recipe you're making.

Similarly, you probably have a stash of bottles to put liquid into, be they 10Ml or 30Ml or whatever. Chances are good that you regularly like to make the same amount of liquid on a regular basis, so you don't want to change that value every time you make a different recipe.

Lastly, you probably have a preferred nicotine level to vape at, be that 12Mg, 18Mg or whatever that is. Again, you don't want that to change every time you make a different recipe, be.comse it's what your body is used to.

I call these values your "de.comlts" and I've chosen to save those separately to the recipes be.comse it just seems to make sense to me. Please correct me if that's wrong.

How about selecting PG/VG values for the flavouring?

That is an excellent question! I've always treated flavours as if they were PG be.comse that seems to be the norm and near enough for government work. I also realise that most people would struggle to input their own values for their concentrates be.comse the values aren't very well publicised.

The app treats all flavours as PG at this stage, but I'm open to ideas. So, how would you suggest I go about it?

  13. The flavouring I was thinking about were doublers. Perhaps an option the select mixing with doublers and there you could select ratio?

canuk vendors are pretty good at listing the PG/VG ration of their juice and some even have the option to choose when buying.

I'm also keen on seeing this become availabl. I'm particularly interested in the separation of PG:VG ratio and Nic level from the flavours of the recipe.
