I'm relatively new to vaping and currently i'm making my own e-juice from Pink Spot Vapor Concentrates, mixed with 60/40 VG/PG and 8mg of NIC. Equipment includes sigelei vmax v5 set to 6.0w with an Aspire .comtilus tank and 1.8 ohm coils.

The issue i'm having is that there is considerable throat hit which my partner describes as feeling like you're smoking a cigarette for the first time.

I've increased VG over PG, decreased NIC to 4mg previously, tested with new coils, altered the way I inhale and yet there still feels like way too much throat hit to be enjoyable all day cigarette replacement. Does anyone have suggestions, be.comse i'm at a loss.

    Thanks in advance.

venetian have you tried any other atomizer apart from the aspire and its coils? it could be that either the aspire or the coils u are using are not wicking properly and giving you dry hits -

dry hits are where the juice has not wet the wick properly around the coil - you get a hot dry unpleasant vape

60% vg at 8 or 4mg nic should be giving you a pretty smooth vape

Agree with what Avtec has said.
Also ive found with the .comtilus, you have to make sure you give it a few primer puffs after you've filled the tank to ensure it's properly wicked.

Agree with the above, I will add I've noticed that a lot of bought coils have been rubbish lately, even some of the tried and true Evod head coils! Don't know why, but a rebuild and they work perfectly.

also try to either reduce NIC or reduce the flavour concentrate itself.
NIC definitely creates its own TH (throat hit)
many 'stronger' flavours can initiate a similar TH experience (menthol, cinnamon, ginger etc.).
steeping juice (let it sit) for longer before use can also mellow things out.

its can be very trial and error finding the 'sweetspot' for each juice.

Thanks, no I haven't used any other atomizer's or coils to compare with. I've definitely had bad batches of coils after the ones that came with the tank, the first pack of five I had didn't even fit to thread into the tank and they were.comthentic. The replacements have been hit and miss in terms of longevity. Be.comse the Aspire coils cost certainly is building up, I might look into a tank upgrade and rebuildable coils to see if that helps, the new Squape Reloaded looks good. I'm trying a different brand of juice at the moment from T-JUICE which has a hint of menthol which is temporarily relieving the unpleasantness.
