New to mixing

Hi guys it has probably been covered before and if so can you post the link please,

Am on my 3rd day vaping and down to only around 8 stinky's a day from 1 pack a day. So i tend to find now already that when i have a stinky it tastes like crap compared to the vape. Am currently vaping Liqua Capppuccino and its ok but nothing that makes me want to vape it on a regular basis.

So my question is what flavours do you guys like and what PG/VG mix should i look at for 18mg nic. My nic is 100% VG at 36mg

 

You could try a sample pack from Vapeking for about $20 ... cheap way to taste varied flavours,? ..and 50/50 vg/pg is a good starting point .. imo

 

You're not going to be able to get any more than 50% PG if you're aiming at 18mg, with your 36mg 100%VG. If you want to try a higher PG ratio you'll have to get some nic in a PG base or try it at a lower strength.

Dropping to 12mg you can go as high as 66/33 PG/VG or at 9mg you can get 75/25 PG/VG.

Finding your preferred ratio can be an absolute pain sometimes, especially when you first start. If you can get the appropriate supplies, PG and VG nic'd and non-nic'd, you can easily setup a few testers to help work it out. Mix up small (2-5ml) batches of 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, 0/100 PG/VG unflavoured at your desired strength and then work your way through them. It might take a while but it should give you a good feel for where your personal 'sweet spot' is. From there you can adjust to whatever you find suits you best, be it something simple like 60/40, 20/80, etc, or your own special ratio like 32/68 if that's what floats your boat.

Should also be pointed out that you can do the same with your nic level to find what suits you best, new vapers often start in the 18-24mg range but many find they need stronger or are happy with much lower. I went to 12mg within the first few weeks and stayed there ever since.

It's a little bit a messing about, but once you've gone through it and found your happy point with nic and PG/VG ratios, you only have to worry about finding flavours you like, plus you'll know exactly what supplies you'll need to mix them.

 

Lately I've been on a menthol kick, I usually ordered if from Mount Baker Vapor with 5 extra shots, 20PG/80VG, Its really good if you like, it has a real ice hit to the troat, I know make my own from scratch using menthol crystals that I get on ebay from south Korea. Its around 1/4 but a bit of work and not as icey, but it works well.
When I started vaping I was hooked on grapefruit and pink lemonade from MBV they are plastic tank killers so only pyrex glass or metal tanks.
I also like black cherry, its nice as a addition to say menthol.
Coffee vapes are nice like the Cappuccino and meleon ones from steamecigs
I've always vaped 18MG also its a good level.

With your early issues, i'd say try a 50/50 ratio.

Vapeking offer fuss free mixers. Basically they are doublers (double concentrate) that come in a half full bottle. Get some 100% PG doublers and all you need to do is fill it up with your 100% VG 36mg/ml nicotine and you'll have a 18mg/ml 50PG50VG mix. Simples.

Thanx so much guys love the help this forum gives. One other question and this might be stupid but i am thinking that part of my reluctance to walk away from the dreaded stinky all together might be be.comse i am use to that shit taste. This being that my brain still tries to tell me that yes the vape gives me the nic hit but its missing that dunhil blue taste (shit house filthy stinky).

Was thinking that maybe some Tobacco flavours might do the trick and getting me over that line and to say good bye to them for good. Should i try and order dunhil flavour or do you think any tobacco flavour would do the job.

 

Tobacco flavours don't taste like the tobacco in cigs, but can be a good way to move towards other flavours in vaping. SMU's suggestion of VK Supreme is a good one, also Del's ultimate pipe from Juice Whore is another popular one, and there are several others that are decent. I would avoid trying to replicate the taste of your old brand of cigs, it will just be disappointing. It might be better to just re-train your brain, rather than try to stay with the old ways

I'm sure others will have some good tobacco flavour suggestions, and if you get a few to try out, I'm sure you'll find something you like, or you may find you prefer other flavour types, thats why its often recommended that anyone new to vaping try a range of different flavours, rather than try and replicate the stinky taste. Once you stop smoking altogether, you'll find that your tastes will change, sometimes dramatically, hence why we recommend only buying small amounts to start with

 

Yeah i think the need to re train the brain is a hugeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee thing. I get really angry with myself (even though its only day 4 of me taking vaping seriously) that i still dont have the control to not buy a pack.

Thanx for the advice on not trying to replicate the taste of the stinky. Will look into those flavours today and any other suggestions from the good people of this forum.

Should i buy some pre-mixed ones and some doublers or just go straight to doublers and mixing my own???

 

If you have some unflavoured nic base, I would suggest going for the doublers and mixing your own. canuk vendors sell some of the best juice flavours I've come across, so definitely worth starting with the local guys first. They also have a better understanding of canuk tastes, (this is important be.comse many of the juices from the US etc are really sweet, or really strong, compared to what most canuk's like).

Have a good look at what the vendors here are offering in the way of doublers, and read the reviews, I would suggest getting a couple of tobacco flavours, a couple of fruit, and a couple of dessert flavours. That will give you some idea of what your personal preferences might be

Be kind to yourself, vaping is a huge learning curve, and you've done well just to get as far as you have on the journey.

Sounds like a good start, I would also grab some of their lemon meringue pie, and maybe their dark cherry doublers, just to give you a bit more variety, if you contact them you can probably just add them to your order

 

So my latest order from Vape king has turned up today, i understand with my 100% PG doubler i just mix 5ml of my 100% VG 36mg nic and i will have a 50/50 PG VG at 18mg mix.
Is there any calcs out there that work on MAC, as i cant seem to get one to load on my mac, also how long should i let these mix steep for before vaping ????????

 

Yep those calculations are spot on.

Steeping varies from flavour to flavour. It's not going to hurt to vape it straight away but make sure you shake the hell out of it first. Just know that the flavour may change over time.

 

So i found that i could only get about 4.8ml in the VK Supreme and the Mint choc chip, is this ok ?????

 

Yeh its not really an issue. It will mean you're nic level will be a slightly lower than 18mg/ml but probably not even noticeable.

 

So quick question on the doublers guys, did i do it right by just putting my nic straight into the doubler. Or are you meant to use a doubler to make a few batches.
