I recently tried some VM Feisty Fruits, and whilst it has grown on me, I would like to make something different but similar DIY. One thing I cant seem to workout is the tangy taste in this juice. Anyone got an idea on what it may be ? to me, this juice tastes like fruit tingles - it's the tingle part I'm looking for.

Possibly a bit of Soda concentrate, or tart & sour?

Good question Altered .... One that's been lurking in the back of my mind for a couple of weeks now, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Tart and sour is by Lorann. You could pinch some citric acid out of the pantry too. Make a roughly 10% solution using 1 gm of crystals to 9mL of PG or VG. Heat the bottle in a jug of boiling water and shake at regular intervals until the crystals dissolve. Another alternative is Malic acid. Same ratio, same procedure. Have fun playing with it and let us know how you get on!

    update

I tried the citric acid crystals at 10%, then upped to 20% then stopped measuring as I added more... :) I mixed this into 5ml VG then added 50/50 to a fruitmix

No noticeable tang or taste at all.

I think I'll get some tart and sour

Sorry I missed this. I blame the .comlty New Post button! lol The Soda I have is Flavour Art I think, purchased from EcigSa, and as MrsG says. The Tart & Sour is Lorann.

Might be a failure, but hey ...... it's all good fun mate :courage:

I love to muck around with DIY and am in the hopes of getting something that has that "really good" factor which I can just make up and vape as an ADV and I'm also learning what flavours I like at the same time.

I have to admit that when I want premium stuff (and can afford it) I'll buy it. At the moment I'm "nursing" what's left of my Bewdy and Prophets, it's gone really dark (well steeped) and is soooooo good :) Too good to waste as an ADV.
    Cheers

Interesting that you didn't get sour and tangy from the citric acid.
Perhaps it's a "less is more" substance?
The other thing I use citric acid for is to make home made cordial, and I use 10g for 2 litres of cordial syrup.
With the citric acid liquid I make (10%), I only add a few drops to a 10mL bottle.
If you were going to try it again, perhaps try it with a LOT less?
Also, was it fresh? Just thinking of what else could have gone wrong, and wondering if old citric acid would lose it's punch?
Another option, but I'm not sure about vaping it, is tartaric acid. You should probably see if google has something to say before you try tartaric though.
With tart and sour, please just add a few drops and try it. If you use too much, it will just taste burnt.

If I use citric acid I nearly always use EM as well, kinda balances it out, particularly if I don't want sour, just the tangyness. 6 drops per 10ml is as high as I've gone, and thats enough for the tang.
