    Hi all,
I need a simple Vanilla Mint Milkshake recipe please, of only say 3 ingredients at most, which would add up to 8% (I can go as high as 10% if need be). The percentage cap is be.comse it's part of an overall recipe. So I'm presuming this would be Mint, Vanilla and ??? or maybe some other ingredients ?

I accidentally put Vanilla Milkshake instead of Vanilla Mint Milkshake in the topic heading.

    Cheers

    Hi Altered.
I tried Bavarian Cream and also Irish Cream and both were no good when combined in the overall recipe unfortunately. Have searched the net high and low for a straight Vanilla Mint Milkshake and even just a Vanilla Milkshake recipe but no go so far. I'm thinking that if I could get a recipe, then if necessary I could work out the ratio of percentages to reduce it back to fit in with the percentages outlined above ? I'm presuming this would work ?

    Thanks for the thought though.

    Cheers

Got any vanilla bean icecream, malted milk and banana? Try mucking round with them.

I've been having a bit of a DIY experiment day today so will try something for you.

    I'm thinking

    4%TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream
3% malted Milk (think it is TFA)
Will start the TFA ripe banana at 1% but think it will need to be about 1.5-2%

Maybe add a little koolada for a cooling effect

    Thanks CMB,
Just what I'm looking for mate ! That should put me nicely in the ballpark.
I'll can the banana and replace it with mint for what I'm working on. I'll have to order in the malted milk concentrate ( I can do that tonight) but I should get that early next week :)

Thanks again with the quick response, will let you know how it goes.
    Cheers

I mixed up that recipe and it smells pretty damn good, will leave it sit in some hot water for a bit longer and give it a whirl.

    Thanks again CMB,
Everything I need has just been ordered :)

I'm already "away with 2 fayries" and pretty soon (with a bit of luck) I'll have a third to keep me company :)

I just put some in a dripper and it is pretty nice actually, will be good to see what it is like in a couple of days, I think the banana will mellow out a bit as it seems a tad strong at 1%, but banana is one of those funny ones that always seems to start off strong then mellow a bit over time.

I reckon a spearmint would be good in place of the banana, even a strawberry or cherry would go well I think.

But the vb ice cream and malted milk make a good base.

Mint is so hit and miss when mixing. In the early days I started using creme de menthe. The flavour is very close to the cocktail grasshopper which is a cream based drink. It should work with the vpflavours you have.

    Thanks Crisscross,
I actually tried the Creme De Menthe also for the recipe I'm trying to get close to ....... didn't work :( I totally know what you mean when you say that mixing is so hit and miss but I reckon that the mint percentage (whatever) will be crucial.
I thought the Creme De Menthe was an easy way to recreate it ...... I now have a heck of a lot more respect for those vendors that have created their own juices :) But I'm learning very quickly (I think !)

    Thanks CMB,
I've taken on board what you've said about the spearmint, banana, strawberry or cherry (although I'm not a big cherry fan).I've always wanted to have a milkshake recipe as well as what I'm trying to get close to. Slowly but surely I'm starting to get together my own collection of DIY ...... not from a business point of view (I already have my own business that takes up all my time) but from having an arsenal of flavours that will keep me off the analogues and is an enjoyable hobby............ and I just love to nut things out ! And that's another great thing about this forum, if you've got a question ...... someone will have the answer.
    Cheers
