I liked Filberts be.comse it just did the basics. Like the examples above - not everybody sees anything that makes sense when they look at numbers. I was always good at maths, and just recently was helping out my .comghter with her hs algebra, which I was always good at, but even then percentage calculations concerning multiplication are something that don't stick in my head while I am working them out, and I need to be able to write them down step by step in order to calculate them.

So Filberts was perfect for that. I don't want a calculator that gives me recipes, or any other stuff...just need the basic calculation without having to drag out pen and paper every time. Wonder what happened?

I think if you're going to DIY, you really do need to understand the maths. Not understanding how it works could be really dangerous. It's just a couple of 00s error entered into a calculator between you vaping a nice liquid and your head exploding.

It's really not that hard. You really only need to understand the nicotine part to be safe.
All you need to do is some relatively simple multiplication and division - even the calculator on your computer or phone will be fine for this if you can't do the calculations in your head(although my pink diamante encrusted solar calculator is something you should all aspire to having!).
How many mLs of liquid are you making?
How many mg of nicotine per mL of liquid do you want to vape?

    Making 30mLs? of 18mg/mL? It's as easy as 30 x 18 = 540 = mg of nicotine you want in the bottle.
    Got 100mg/mL nicotine? Divide 540 by 100 = 5.4mL
    Got 36mg/mL nicotine? Divide 540 by 36 = 15 mL

If you can't understand this maths, it's probably best to vape ready to vape liquids.
You need to be able to recognise if you've got it terribly wrong, such as if your calculator tells you to put 10mL of 100mg/mL nicotine in your bottle.

    Want to test your knowledge?

How much 36mg/mL nicotine do I need to make 60mL of 5mg/mL liquid?

How much 100mg/mL nicotine do I need to make 75mL of 27mg/mL liquid?

    Show your working please :)

    To make 10ml @ 27mg/ml use 2.7ml

    2.7ml x7 = 18.9ml to make 70ml
    2.7ml /2 = 1.35ml to make 5ml

    18.9ml + 1.35ml = 20.25ml of 100mg/ml in the 75ml = 27mg/ml :D

    Can only do 100mg ha

lol, yes I'm confused or, yes it's the right formula?.....just kidding I'm assuming it's the right forumula. :)

I've mixed a few doublers up this morning...I tell you, it's like a comedy act, the number of mistakes I make, crap everywhere, forgetting whether I've put in the PG already or not.

It's just ridiculous and I hate it. Bring on legal premixed in canada, please!!

But how does it work? You put the info in but there's nowhere to click to get the resulting amounts you need to mix? Or am I having a blonde moment?

As you tab between the input boxes, the event raised by that action runs javascript, which calculates the output based on the information entered ... okay?

In the box below labelled "Recipe" (although it doesn't give you PG/VG ratios)

I use Vaping Cobra's calculator now as it allows changing the total PG:VG ratio, as I prefer 50:50.

E-Liquid Calculator | Vaping Cobra Blog

Use 33% flavouring for a tripler and 50% flavouring for a doubler

I use this one eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

Once you download the program to your computer you don't need to be on the net to use it. Plus there are a heap of recipes that come with it and it has the feature that you can save your own recipes to the same folder or a specific folder of your choice. You can change pg/vg, nic content, how much you want to make etc etc. Print out your recipes etc .
    Cheers
