Throat burn on 18mg 80PG/20VG mix

Hey guys - first post.. Lots of browsing, finally decided to sign up.

I purchased my first lot of 18mg unflavoured ejuice from vapingzone with a ratio of 80PG/20VG. I'm using an ego-c with vision stardust clearomiser. I've also purchased a 80PG/20VG doubler from juicewhore.

So i've mixed them at a ratio of 50/50 and it has just ripped my throat apart haha.

Not sure if nic content is too high, or the PG might be to high, but it just burnt baaaddd.

I was thinking that i could try 5 parts doubler, 3 parts the vapingzone juice, and 2 100% VG.. would this help do you think?

It sounds like you are vaping at only 9mg/ml nic so I doubt it's the nic. If it's a burnt flavour it's likely to be a hardware issue I think. How long have you been using your hardware? And, have you tried changing the clearomiser?By the way, it's really good for you to introduce yourself in the new vapers section first so that we know the basics about you. Also where you are located state wise is also helpful. It saves us asking you the same questions over and over

 

try vaping just the flavour only without nic and dilute it a bit with plain PG/VG if you have any and see what happens then try vaping the nic without flavour etc etc............

Also if the coil is too dry, ie not enough juice covering it, that can give a bad vaping sensation

it's considered good form to post a brief intro in the welcome thread, and to include your location in your details.

The Nic is 9mg as mixed (not really an issue) and your PG is a bit high for my personal taste, but others find it ok.

Did you prime the clearo with juice to ensure you don't get a dry hit?

Adding VG will reduce your nic strength further, but smooth it out...._if_ the PG is the issue.

see if the clearo is working properly

 

Maybe needs to steep a little. I had the same problem with my first batch.

Oh whoops - i've posted in the welcome section.. (been a long time since i was a forum member anywhere haha).

Yeah the flavour isn't bad, and it doesn't taste burnt.. It just seems to burn my throat real bad.

I'll do some research on priming the clearo

dont bother - fill the clearo, make sure the wick is soaked..... give it a few hard sucks without hitting the fire button

 

I'll second snap Donna/Supersports.

I'll also second what Altered1 has stated in the post previous to this one. I always do this with a freshly filled clearo.
Also remember that if you still have "water" in the wick after cleaning and haven't dry burned it all out it can give you that burnt throat feeling as well.
You'll soon get the hang of it mate.

If you vape like you smoke there is a good chance it's going to burn on the way through. Even on my little pv's I cannot do a direct lung hit. I draw to mouth then take to lungs. I only use 100pc pg and a 2 stage vape goes ok, direct to lungs doesn't work.

as Tom32 said direct lung hit could be your problem, most new vapours try to vape like they are smoking a cigarette, this does not work, again as Tom said have a look in the Newby's section on how to vape . Lung hits are an art form, but you can get a crap load of vapour from them, also what type of hardware are you using, it took me two days of solid vaping before I became comfortable with the whole thing.
