Been experimenting with an all VG and water mix. Found how PG dries you out annoying.
Most people buy their straight nic with 75% or 100% PG so you'll always have some PG in your mix.

Also tried adding 0.9% saline to help even more. It works. Vaping lime with this brought my taste buds back when everything tasted bad.

    I've read
20% Distilled water to 80% VG equals about 75% PG 25% VG for viscosity.
With some very approximate calculations. Waters ability to reduce viscosity is four times greater than PG.

Lets say you have 100mg nic with all PG to start with and you usually vape 10mg nic ( to make things easy). This means your final mix will contain 10%PG if you only add VG & H2O.
You want to add only VG & water but have the same viscosity as 75%PG mix. Take 10% off 75% = 65%. Divide 65% by 4 and you get approx 16%. Result is 10%PG, 16%Water and the rest VG. You will get the same consistency as 75%PG.

next saline. I like the ocean air. I used sea salt.

1% (0.9%) saline solution added mix for me usually works out to be approx 0.1% in the final mix. It makes a difference. Be prepared for a wet nose if you vape a lot.
    For every 10ml of water to get 1% NaCl. 10ml/100 = 0.1 or 100mg

Now we need to convert to volume be.comse not many people will have scales that measure such small quantities. Then you can use the volume markers on a 2.5ml syringe for comparison. Guesstimation :D

Salts density is 2.165 g/cm3, or about double of water. So 100mg/2= 0.05ml
So to make up 50ml or water at 1% saline solution, you will need to add what looks like 0.25ml of salt.

It's a very small amount. Those who don't use salt in food may find it a little salty. Just reduce if you need too.

You can buy Nobles pur.com - pure water at coles or woolworths. It's vacuum distilled & really is pure water. EDIT>(just checked, not vacuum distilled but good enough)
It will make vape a little cooler be.comse of waters lower boiling temp.
Be prepaired, You will vape more :D . I have only tried this with fruity flavours so far.
    Hope all this made sense.

Interesting, but wont you find your juice burns a lot quicker and a loss of throat hit?

Salt isn't pure. I'd be buying saline. Every chemist should have it if you ask.

sushi - i went in to a chemist and asked for de-ionised water - they looked at me kinda weird - then went out the back and when they came back out they gave me a litre of baxter steripour water for irrigation for $5 - i asked them again is this de ionised and they said i "its what we use for mixing - we use it for all the solutions for babies" so that's what ive been using for cutting vg

    looks like this below

Baxter 500ml Steripour Water FOR Irrigation X1 | eBay

high pg dries me out - especially my nasal passages and sinuses

@steve.c No throat hit which I never wanted. I want a super cool smooth vape. Yeh, I'm not normal :D Even using a long drip tip to get cooler. A little loss of flavour but already found perfect setup on genesis RBA to fix that. Maybe up flavour by 10% (not 10% of finished mix. 10ml of flavour becomes 11 or 12ml)

@Quom - yeh others should but I like strontium in my corn flakes

@avtek Whah.. costs too much. I'll just use pure water. No minerals/salts, etc just H20. should be very very close to ph7. From memory it's $5 for 5L. I buy it to throw on my face after a shower anyway. Keeps skin soft and stops it from drying out. :D Sydney's water is usually ph 7.6 to 7.8. Really not the greatest for your skin.

I just boil a pot of tap water and use the condensed water from the lid pot.

    :D close enough.

For those that want to imagine all the chemical reactions that happen to sea salt under the heat of the coil ( around 250 - 260C ? ). You are welcome to try - Composition of seawater
    I will buy saline eventually.

De-ionised water is used to refill lead acid batteries, and in steam units. Try a Repco or bunnings.

Just think for every $4 saved you could save another flavour concentrate from being locked away in a store.

:D I use it for multiple things so what I get is good for me.

The stuff you pointed to seems a much better option than de-ionised water you buy in the shop. Have you ever tasted it. It tastes bad, it's not right. I have drank distilled water before and know what it should taste like.

I like VG heavy juice and usually vape 70% VG 30% H2o but I find its a tad too thin maybe 80/20 would be better, I do like your theory but its far too advanced for my newbie mind ;)

I know what you mean. I'll update this in an excel calc I've been doing eventually. Wrote it be.comse I keep needing to do things that you can't do with ejuicemeup. I still use ejuicemeup too.

EDIT> Forgot. I've only done this with concentrates at 3%-8%. I'd imagine if you used a concentrate at 12%-20% you have to include it calculation initially as PG or Water to get closer to the right consistency.

I really like the thought of adding a bit of saline to stop the drying effect of PG. Cos I only vape 100% PG, but others I know who vape don't like it cos they say it dries them out too much.

I might go pick up a small amount of saline solution at the chemist and try it in a mix. See what happens.

I have never heard of anyone doing it. You may just end up with extra salt and not moisture.
If you need, you could add up to 30% water to the pg but it will be useless in a clearo. Genesis RBA would be o.k. for such a thin mix.

Dilute the saline solution by 75% to start with. Better to start low and see what happens :D
