Mixing lessons????

I think the reason i dont DIY juice is be.comse it takes so long, to steep and wait and test and readjust, keep notes all that just the thought of having to get so involved does my head in, i'd much rather pay for doublers mix them up and vape the deliciousness

 

When I do this, I add 2 columns on the right hand side of the page, one for Pg, one for Vg.
I then fill in these numbers for each ingredient, row by row.
The very last row is my sum total. It then makes it fairly easy to fill in the blank Pg & Vg rows.

I've made life simple for myself. I use a final ratio of 75:25. So I buy doublers at 100Pg. My nic I've mixed down into 30mL bottles of varying strength, all at 50:50.

Ok so without using these calculators (I'm on my phone and have already exceeded my dl limit).....

If I have 10ml 100mg nic how much 18mg juice can I make out of it using Doublers? I'm not fussed on pg:vg ratio can't seem to tell the difference so just go 50:50 for the sake of this example

 

55.5 ml all up, so 10ml x 100mg/ml, 28ml double flavour, and 18ml of zero nic VG or PG

 

gtadmin is correct 55.5 mls all up but you cant just use doublers you need to use plain pg or vg with it to bring it down to 18mg.

 

For a quick 2 second mental calculation, you can get 20mg/ml very easy. 100/5 = 20, so 10ml x 5 = 50ml.
By multiplying the amount of mls you have of 100mg/ml nic by 5, you are diluting(dividing) the strength by 5 ie 20mg/ml.

If that extra 2mg/ml is really important to you, then you can work it out other ways. 1.8ml of 100mg/ml per 10ml of liquid = 18mg/ml. So 9ml of 100mg/ml makes 50ml @ 1.8mg/ml, leaving you 1ml of 100mg/ml, which will make 5ml of 20mg/ml.

So close enough to 55ml of 18mg/ml(aprox) is the short answer. Half of that needs to be doubler, so 27.5ml doubler in the mix, 10ml 100mg/ml nic & 17.5ml PG &/or VG.

 

Just to be a pain can you adjust those figures to show the measurements of pg/vg and a tripler?

 

You have 1000 mg of nicotine in that 10 mL. 10 (mL) x 100(mg) = 1000 mg nicotine.

For each 30 mL bottle of eliquid at 18mg/mL, you'll need 540 mg of nicotine, which is 5.4 mL of 100mg/mL nicotine liquid.
For each 10 mL bottle of eliquid at 18mg/mL, you'll need 180mg of nicotine, which is 1.8 mL of your 100mg/mL nicotine liquid.

 

Without knowing what ratios are in your nicotine and your flavouring, there's no way to calculate that.

 

If it was me i would just get an empty 30ml bottle, chuck in your 10mls of 100mg nico, then chuck in 18mls of plain PG or VG. That gives you 28mls of 36mg nico juice. Then you can just use that 50/50 with doublers to achieve 18mg juice.

 

Now CCC, you should get a prize.. that is the best way to use 10 mL of 100mg nicotine!

 

I'm confused - are you referring to my second request querying amounts of pg/vg/tripler required if using 10ml of my nic?

Adding that extra 0 and the conversion of mg to ml almost set me back to square one.

CCC I like your method, I don't think even I could stuff that up!!!

 

55mls of juice total /3 = 18.3333333333333333333ml of tripler. I'd just use 18.5ml
So 18.5ml tripler, 10ml nic (100mg/ml) & 26.5ml of PG &/or VG.

If you want PG/VG ratio, then I need to know what % of PG/VG is in the nic & tripler & what ratio you want but supposing the nic is 100% PG base & the tripler is 100% PG base, you won't be able to get 50/50 PG/VG but you could get close by adding just VG as the third part of the mix.

 

Without knowing the PG/VG ratio of either your nic, your doublers and your triplers, there is no way of telling you how much PG (or VG) to add to get a desired PG/VG ratio ...

 

I'm unsure if pg/vg levels in my nic, Doublers and triplers I forget if I was given options and what I chose....the doublers and triplers are VK dunno about the nic id have to try track down the truck it fell from the back of but I've vaped various juices with different ratios and haven't noticed much difference, guess my pallet (sp?) is rather easy to please. Only bad experience was with my first cigalike that was 100% pg, dried my mouth out.

 

Palate ... if the tripler is from VK, then it's PG. Assuming your nic is also PG, use the 10ml of nic, 18.5 tripler and 27ml VG ... pretty close to 50/50

I can't believe this thread is still going when all Fifthflo needs to do is see me.

 

Unless you have a mixing 101 class travelling all over oz. I'm sure other members will benefit from the input of other members here on the forum. It is called AVF after all.

 

Equipoise I spend most of my time working and catching up on sleep, I haven't ventured further than the eastern suburbs since I moved here and it's unlikely ill get there in the near future, I just can't afford to make the time. This thread has given me what I need to know in the meantime and has assisted others also.....just read the thread for proof !
