Opensource Collaborative Juice Project

I see there's a few of us into making DIY juice and occasionally a recipe get's posted up, but I'm sure sure many people don't actually try the recipe be.comse they don't have the concentrates, or aren't too sure what it's going to taste like so never bother.

So I was thinking what could be of interest to some is to have a group (perhaps private, perhaps here, perhaps elsewhere??), where we all swap around some DIY doublers with the recipe's, give feedback on the juices and help each other develop them as well as having the opportunity to try the various juices before going out and buying the various concentrates.

I think it would be a bit of fun. We've got some great vendors with some great concentrates available.

I've got a massive concentrate order coming in from the US, so I'd love to support this idea. I'm currently trying to source some cheap little (1-3ml) glass bottles. Would also be another nice feature to have, a list of recommended places to find bottles/flavourings/bases for very nice prices.

 

Free doublers? Sure why not!

lol, I see 100 people waiting around to try free ejuice yet I doubt those people would ever post a recipe or give anything in return.

At the moment I pay $7.70 for 60 x 10ml bottles.

300 is roughly $30 + shipping.

 

just doublers obviously for legal reasons, but also so people an mix some with just plain old pg/vg and have a taste without wasting their nic.

 

Both work for me, not that I'm very good with this 'taste' thing ...

 

Yeah I can see that happening too, so we'd have to figure out a way of discouraging that type of thing from happening.

 

So it's kind of like a torrent site set up in a way.. The way they stop users from just leeching is to make them give a fair bit first in order to receive anything.
Make users give 3 recipes and 2 doubler samples in order to receive anything or view recipes from others?

 

Something like that, there would still need to be a fair amount of trust though, in preparation and also in ensuring someone just doesn't go and buy a bottle of VG and some vanilla essence and dish it out. That's the tricky bit.

 

But wouldn't the recipe have to be posted first and then a "club member" put their hand up to try it?

This interests me when I finally get going, might need a bit of practice before anyone is game in trying anything I made, but I like the idea

 

Bo.. chances are if you like something you make for yourself, there would be other people who would like it too.
You really only have to have a sense of adventure to get into mixing your own flavours.

Maybe if you get people to send juice to a nominated person with a replied paid envelope, they could then get 2 different juices in return and select from a list. You would need someone or possibly 2 people ( or do it on a roster?) to monitor all the incoming juice and make sure it was kosher. A bit of organising and it would be possible

I like the idea... but

1. Your recipe sounds delicious, 30 people want to try a sample.
2. I've only been vaping for a short time, and I have already amassed 20+ bottles of various flavours

I am still looking for a searchable database....
Such as I tick the 20 flavours I have that are listed in the database, it then spits out all the recipes I can make with what I already have...

 

That would make me super happy. I would love something like that. I think there might actually be a DB like that I'll go check my vape bookmarks folder.

That's not a bad idea. Could probably be created using a microsoft access database with pivot tables. Only problem is whether someone can be stuffed putting all the info in.

I'd be interested in collaborating in this. I've got a whole bunch of concentrates from VC & EMS and an ultrasonic cleaner to cut down steeping times. i just haven't really got into alot of DIY yet, as my made ejuice stock will probably last me for the next few months and I'm trying to get through them all before doing it.
Maybe people can show a pic(s) of their concentrate stockpile and maybe their forum name in the pic to show their commitment to the idea. I'd do one but it's late at night and I'm lazy at the moment.
