There's been some discussion about Queens Essences and Diacetyl in a few threads from much earlier so I thought I'd throw them a more recent email.

Looks like I might be getting $1.20 worth of Rum Essence and coconut as these have the least ingredients :) I have stuffed around with them before I found out about the Diacetyl concerns and find that for me I need about 50% of the essence so it's almost a doubler.

    Hi Ian

    Thanks for your email.

All of our products are free from Diacetyl. The flavour industry has been
phasing out its use for some time.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks and regards

On another forum I'm on however we're discussing if the Rum in this essence is an alcohol based natural flavour or imitation. If it's real Rum it may not include added Diacetyl but may have it as a natural by-product of fermenting the alcohol ! More emails to Queens :)

And in reply so should be free of Diacetyl

    Hi Ian

Our Rum no longer has any ‘real’ Rum in it. It is formulated from natural flavour components that have Rum characteristics, resulting in a product that when used in cooking is just like the real thing.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks
    Tom
