tracking number confusion - this happened to anyone?

hi folks - just got off the phone tocomst post

im expecting a parcel from fasttech - but the tacking number says that there was a delivery attempt yesterday in another suburb - this was unsuccessful - so now the parcel is awaiting collection in kew - only problem is that im in st kilda - about 15 minutes away....

i rangcomst post and they said that the item that matches my tracking number has my name on it but another address - ie not my address

so i thought fasttech must have addressed it wrong

however when i look at my order page on ft - there is a picture of my parcel with my name and my correct address

anyone had this happen?

ps tracking says "Attempted delivery - customer not known at address"

 

Thats strange. I get stuff from Fasttech all the time but have never had this happen with them or anyone else. Lucky you looked at the tracking. I will have to start doing that. I hope you get it ok

 

same here aschzzz - lotsa deliveries in the past without a hitch - this is really weird

 

Is the initial tracking code they give when you place the order? Or the actual tracking number.

After 4 business days they will sen you an actual tracking number (atleast with expedited air anyway)

 

yeah filfa - after a few days they sent me the tracking number - its the tracking number on my order page now

 

With that option it goes to a local forwarder and they put a different label over the top of the one in the pic. So it looks like the forwarder has somehow put the wrong address on it.

 

Keep us updated as to what happens. I always look at those photos FT post when stuff seems to be running slow just to check. Really weird that the photo they posted has your correct address

 

okay well that makes sense crisscross

problem now is if i go to the kew post office to collect i will have nothing on me to "prove my address" upon collection - given that the forwarder has put the wrong address on it
