tv loses reception when vaping?

I don't get any of the channel 7 free to air channels very well. On windy days sometimes the tv just says 'weak signal', but most of the year it's ok.
Last night I was vaping my DNA30 @ 25 watts, unplugged from any chargers and noticed the tv lost reception whenever i pressed the fire button to vape. I was sitting about 3m from the tv antenna wall socket.
Strange.

 

Make sure your antenna is pointing towards the dandenong ranges (same as everyone else's)
I'm assuming yours is digital tv, which needs a pretty good reception to work. Weird that the vaping comsed it too......

 

The TV probably needs new coils. I'd recommend 0.2 Ω.

 

Just as an experiment, wrap your mod in tin foil, and then hit the go button and see if you maintain reception. Think "Faraday Cage"

 

It's telling you to vape more and watch less tele....

 

Not too strange
The pwm signal from your mod is just enough to confuse your weak signal to your telly ... PWM is how a lot of devices regulate power, they do this by switching the power on and off really quickly , for example a 33Hz mod will cycle on and off 33 times a second applying full power if set to max , it will still cycle 33 times a second if set to half power , but will only supply current to your coil on 16 of the 33 cycles and 8 times if it was set to 1/4 of max ... PWM supplies your coil by AVERAGING out pulses over a set time period ... it will constantly fire at say 7V , but if you have it set to 3.5V then it will only supply power on 50% of the cycles ... thus supplying an average of 3.5 V ... so each time your mod supplies current to your coil it is going "Beep, Beep, Beep, no beep, Beep,Beep,Beep, no beep " etc ...each beep is a potential electrical emmission ... it just happens that your telly is at such a fine drop out point , that the miniscule "Beeps" are enough to drown out the "dit dit dit dot dot dot " of the TV signals coming down your antenna wire ... so your telly is cracking the shytes at getting "dit dit beep beep dot beep dot dit beep beep dot beep "

You need to vape further away from your antenna and telly , or adjust/replace/pray so that your telly gets a signal strong enough to decode it and says "eff the beeps , they dont belong here "

Or buy a mech mod , or one that Buck/Boosts power rather than PWM ... best method ... fix yer antenna

 

make sure you are using quad shield rg6 coils and all should be fine

 

coax even ... quad coils would give a big vape but

 

I've studied electronics for years and it's the first time I hear of such a peculiar case. My guess is that since the television signal in your area is so weak then even small interference like the one coming from your vape are enough to throw the signal off. Try getting and air antenna or just move your couch a little bit.

 

Huh, I've never really vaped from inside our house so I never knew this could happen. Plus, we have cable as well so I doubt vaping could destroy the reception. I guess what they said were true, your television's antenna must be positioned wrongly or your reception is positioned at a weak spot already. That is why vaping can actually destroy the connection with local television networks. You can either position the antenna in a strong spot for signal or stop smoking near it.
