Just made my first attempt at dyi...

Hey guys I just made my first mix with concentrates, it leaves a little to be desired. I used 15ml nic 10ml 0nic and 5ml concentrated red bull.. And it still tastes like nothing? Mind you I vaped it straight away. How long should I steep it for? I'd have thought I would at least taste something straight away.

That is surprising - with a 16% concentration you should have tasted something. Steeping is a black science and can be up to a week or more but can be accelerated by gentle warming the bottle of mix in hot water. Try vaping with 2mls nico and 2 mls 0 Nic and see what the true taste of nothing is then compare it to the other mixture. Try one of the other concentrates mixing up a small batch and see if that tastes of something. If not trade you tongue in for a new one (only joking).

 

It was a fresh clearo and i only took 2 drags as soon as I filled it, so the wick might not have even been properly soaked yet. Can ya tell vaping is new territory for me? Lol

The problem ive got is i hvae a syringe for my nic sa thats ok but my 0nic and the concentrates were dropper bottles so im just guessing with those

I frequently mix by eye & guesstimate the %'s of the various ingredients, unless I am mixing a new flavor for the first time, then I try to measure more precisely. When I know the %'s that work best with that flavor, then I just judge the amounts & adjust to taste after a test vape.
The nic is the only thing I bother to measure properly.
So I wouldn't worry too much about your DIY mixing method. Redbull flavor, from what I have been told & the one I tried myself is nothing like redbull, more like full-of-bull lol
Perhaps try a more simple flavor to mix up, like apple or mint to get a better feel for it.

Seeing the way you used the abbreviation its obvious you are the confused sort!!! LOL

You should have been able to taste it, not sure why, it does matter on what flavor company you are using -- capella's doesn't require a lot, TPA medium, flavorwest a lot, its all experimentation......

 

Get some 30ml dropper bottles and make up the nic base you want or just get it in them for the convenience...

 

yep got a heap of those. I feel like an idiot now though, I didn't realise i could take the lid off the flavour dropper bottle lol, so I was just dropping it in not using the syringe I made the cola one up exact, 5ml 36mg nic/4ml 0mg nic/1ml cola. That tastes much better. It's all good though, I'm having fun and it is all a learning curve. I havent made anything unvapeable yet so as far as I can see, I am in front
