I have a bottle of 'coconut' flavour essence. Ingrediants water, propylene glycol , glycerine and coconut flavour. Can i add this to nic and PG/VG to make a juice, or will the glycerine mess things up??

Be careful with the supermarket 'essence', always check out the Ingrediants first, then research the ingrediants.

I've also read in this forum that they are very weak.

    Good luck.

just check for sugars in your essences.........all the essences have some sugar in them....check the ingredients....sugar will kill your atty's, carto's, and anything else

Too funny. I did the exact same thing yesterday after checking queen's ingredients fact sheet. I made 3ml of no nic with 0.5ml coconut at 70/30 pg/vg. Tasted just like bought stuff.

I tried the coconut be.comse it was one of the few without alcohol.

That's right, but the queen ones I was interested in were 30 and 40% alcohol.

I have some vanilla 'airing out' atm to see if evaporation affects the flavour :)

I think the supermarket flavours high in alcohol are the ones using oils which need to be dissolved in alcohol such as Queens Orange which contains orange oil. Coconut and Imitation Rum seem to be the only ones safe to vape but are very weak (and Yukky in the case of rum). Coconut seems ok.

I have a friend in the food industry.. whom can supply a vast array of essence (commercial grade). So we are gonna suss out some trials there. I just need to get confirmation of the ingrediants of our prospective flavours. Stay tuned. :)

I was really just practicing in anticipation of my lifetime supply of menthol crystals arriving heh. The plain coconut is vapable but far from awesome.

Be very careful with this , as an ex-industrial chemist , there are many food safe products that turn into a completely different beasty when subjected to high temps and catalysation on an element . Make sure they have no colourings and espescially that they do not contain artificial sweeteners ( Aspartame , phenylalanine etc) these dont like temperatures much over 85 degrees and in the case of Aspatame can liberate formaldehyde ( this actually happens in the body anyway , but it is then tranformed into formic acid , but this occurs in the bowels and bloodstream normally , not in the lungs , which is where this vapour would end up )
Not being alarmist at all . as the amounts inhaled would be minimal ,and probably harmless, but isnt vaping all about a healthier way to smoke ?
I would avoid those flavourings anyway if it were me :)

thanks for the heads up.. ill put that on the list with other ingrediants to avoid. I wont go vaping anything unless its pretty much PG/VG, water and flavour. i will be Avoiding sugar, artificial sweeteners and colourings.
