please expand my knowlege...

(sorry for long post but it's Sunday and felt like rambling a little to create context for my questions).

Hi, I've begun my second attempt at vaping at least mentally. Last week I tried out some carts and flavours (0 nic)
with an.comtomatic battery ciggalike style and while it could have been good, it would just heat up to quickly
so could never really get a good drag on it. So I have decided to drop that dream of a cigarette looking
device that works just as i need it to and am embarking on a proper second attempt this time no starter kits!

Last year I tried vaping and got a starter kit and although it was a reputable brand it just gave me nothing but
grief as far as battery taking 5 million years to charge for a few hours of use, inconsistent vaping flavor
and vape itself. I was wanted to get some hands on before trying the nic juices, but be.comse it was so crap
and after all the money i spent I just tossed it and the juices and went back to the ciggs
(only to lose more money I guess but I just assumed they would all be like this).

anyway fast forward to now, and being a few people on this forum have mentioned the new hardware is much better
I thought I would take the plunge as I'm sick of getting muscled by the government financially for a legal product
that is my right to use if I need it for stress relief or whatever my excuse for it is.
(I never smoked in public anyway except for when i was young) but I also do feel self-conscience a bit as
I don't like smoking in my backyard either as I don't want annoy neighbors with it as it's not like when
I was younger and everyone smoked. So I keep hearing people having success with moving to vaping
so I really want to make this attempt work for me.

So on the advice of a more experienced vapor and many youtube video I just ordered an Aspire .comtilus Mini and
a iStick mini mod and some extra coils and some 0 nic juice to test flavours I like. If this works out I'll get
a larger mod but I just didn't want to be out of pocket again if it's a fail.

anyway onto my questions, that I hope you may not mind helping me with so I can get the best experience
from this device if anyone uses these or similar hardware.

1. the .comt Mini has air flow holes, how are these best set to help get good vapor production, heat and taste
does it effect them? It's a new feature to me.

2. any recommendations on the pg/vg ratio that will be best in this tank or is it just a personal
preference thing. in the ciggalike test I did I had the PG 80/VG 20 and it seemed to good in a cart
but was wondering how this is in a tank.

3. are there any canuk vendors that sell drip atomizers (no building required)that are ready to go
as I thought it would be usful for testing flavors before filling the tank be.comse I found the carts do
have a different taste from a tank and I still am looking for a flavor I think I could handle all day.

4. any recommendations on drip tip shape (pawn, vase etc...) I'll have to go ceramic as I found last time
the steel ones have a funny metallic taste at least to me (I am a bit more sensitive
than the average person though).

5. after I have tried out flavors and found one I liked and am comfortable with the handling
of the liquids and maintenance of the new set up I wanted to finally try to use a 6 mg nic juice,
now for starters I wanted to just buy as local as possible so "flavour vapes nz" seems like a good
candidate to start with for me and if that works out being that they have limited flavors compared
to JW as far as premixed, I'm guessing I'll have to make my own. so does anyone have a recipe
for creating 6mg nic juice and what I'll need if I buy the 36mg unflavored. I know they have
calculators and such but being I'm a noob at all this and don't want to screw up be.comse I miss read
something it would be good to have a step by step guide on doing this so I can use the flavors I like.

6. How dangerous is the premixed juice, is it relatively safe? obviously I'd wash it off asap if I got some
on my skin but was curious about this be.comse of all the misinformation as I've seen people wiping off
excess premixed juice while filling with their fingers and they don't seem fazed by it.
also if making my own with the 36mg is that high risk to get on your skin? just sort of want to assess
the risk as no matter how careful I could be there is always the possibility of a splash here and there.
mainly asking so I don't have a freak out when it happens lol.

7. on my first attempt (0 nic) I noticed that every now and then the juice would spit up the
tank into my mouth, just a little but thought if this had nic would it be a problem?
is there a way to prevent it? was it just my crap kit I had at the time? as in all the video's
I've seen no one mentions this happening.

8. when I do try the nic juices and making it myself should I get it in pg or vg any recommendations?
I really haven't had the opportunity to try many configs of juices and don't want to at least minimize
the the cost of the iteration process, while i get this right.

anyway sorry for the wall of text and many questions but I didn't find anything that addressed these
clearly for me and any help in making me understand things better would help be make this much needed change.

Don't look at me. I am too old fashioned to talk through all that new fangled gear.

 

1. The airflow holes on the .comt dictate the resistance of the draw.
This feature on bigger devices will produce more vape however on the .comt its just to find what resistance to the airflow your prefer.

2. On the .comt mini i would suggest like i do to all new vapers start at 50/50,
this gives you a base line designed for most common Atomizers, you can adjust this to your tastes/ intolerance later down the line.

3. There is currently no dripping atty on the market that requires no building, how ever you can buy small bag of pre wrapped coils from certin vendors.

4. Drip tips are as customizable as phone covers for your phone, it will all come down to personal taste. I prefer glass ones myself

5. I recommend using this calc its is very simple. and give very concise measurements at the bottom of the page

6. Yes and no, all safety should be taken when mixing your juices but no need to rush out and buy a hazmat suit, wash your hands after if your really concerned coles and woolys sell disposable gloves

7. This is called spit back and it happens on thin juices like 80 pg, running a 50/50 will lessen it, the .comt coils you will be using also have a mesh guard to prevent some of it.

8. This is hard one 50%50 nic is good place to start if you are never going to advance in vaping.
How ever if you will want to try more advanced vaping in future then 100% pg nic is the way to go it will allow more headroom with making higher pg/vg based juices.
