Variable Batteries

Hey..can someone explain to me the relationship between variable watts and vapeing?

Been vamping for 3 weeks and I'm running a sub ohm Kanger nano of the 2100 eGo one battery and its great but not sure if I'm getting the max out of it or my occasional 1.2 ohm.

What is it? Why do I care? What part of the vaping experience changes when you mod up a battery?

 

It's a completely adjustable and consistent way of vaping. Those ego one batteries will give you 4ish volts on full charge, and diminish as the battery goes down. The power is completely dependent on the power left in the battery. I believe on a full charge and 0.5 coil it's 35 watts and goes down from there. On the 1.2 ohm coil its around 12 watts, if my memory/math serves me correct (there are calculators around and im too lazy to give a completely accurate response).

VW/VV means whatever you set it to, it will stay that way until the battery is empty, and you can change the wattage depending on your style of vaping/mood. If I'm using a 1.8 ohm coils on a regulated device in the morning, I may start at 11 watts for a bit more milder vape, and later in the afternoon, i might crank it to around 14-15 watts for more vapor and a bigger hit.

It also depends on juices. Some juices like high wattage, some juices like lower wattages. A regulated VV/VW device allows someone to find their sweet spot.

 

I find my sweet spot for 1.9ohm .comtilus mini at around 13-20w which is about 5-6v.
When im on the .5 sub ohm atlantis i love it at about 18-25w which sits 3.2-3.8v

Means more power, which means more vapour, and warmer vapour . More power is not necessarily a good thing as it can sacrifice flavor in certain situations.

 

Based on my vaping experience I think that every setup (battery, topper/airflow and Eliquid) has an optimum power setting that gives you the best combination of vapour and flavour. There are quite a few ways if achieving the best combo. Battery power setting, coil resistance and Eliquid PG/VG ratio.

Having a option of variable power is just one of the components that gives you flexibility. Once you find the power setting for your particular Eliquid then you can adjust the battery setting and coil resistance to suit. I find this little calculator helpful when tinkering with gear.

Alternatively you can adjust your Eliquid ratio to match the gear setup. It all depends on which piece you want to start with.
