Hi I'm Alex, Just started vaping 6 months ago but went off it for awhile. Been cigarette free for 4 weeks now and I'm ready to get deeper into vaping. I'm using an itaste v3 with evods and protankminis. I've been buying juice from ecigforlife but it seems quite pricey (~$30 for 30ml). Just received nic from boxelder (100mg/ml) and ordered a bunch of triplers from vk.

Can anyone recommend a mod for first time purchase? The itaste running out of power half way through the day is why i keep going back to cigarettes. I'm hoping to find something that will go at least 24hrs.

Thought it was about time i joined a vaping forum and this one looked like a good choice.

Chris here from Perth, thought id finally try and give up the ciggies and try the ecigs but so far not much luck finding an ejuice that doesnt taste sickly sweet so figured id join up here and see if i can find something that tastes like tobacco and meet some fellow vapers.

Hi Chris. I'm in Perth too. Best if you could go to the vape meet in Forrestfield tomorrow to maybe get some tastes of various juices from other members attending.

I feel the same as you do, most tobacco flavours are sicky and syrupy sweet. With them I have added extra vegetable glycerin to dulute them down (make more vapour too). It's always an option if you ordered 24mg or 18mg ejuices anyway so there's still a decent strength of nic in it to put off any cravings.

I like sweet when it's supposed to be sweet, some fruit, drink and desert flavours are OK to have with a sweet taste. And some cigar flavours are OK with a tiny amount of sweetness. But if I want a baccy flavour, I hate ones with heaps sweetness in it, so I dislike standard RY4/DK4 chinese flavours and anything that tastes like it. Their 555 is pretty sweet too.

Otherwise I have found "liqua" brand from china not as sweet, so order some of their baccy flavours. Their 'bright tobacco' is almost too close to a cigarette to me. I actually smoked rollies be.comse I don't like tailor cigs at all, I always found them dry and bland, so that's pretty close to the mark. They have other types too, but the bright is the only one that comes in the 10pk box. I also liked the cigar flavour with is a pretty sweet mix, like a flavoured mini european cigar. I've got their turkish which I haven't had yet.

If you have any nic already purchased from overseas and are interested in local flavour "doublers":
Some of kritike's mixes at vapebar are ok, they are stronger dark tobacco taste with a bit of sweetness.
Also vapekings lighter tobacco flovours are Ok too.
When mixing them, don't mix the whole lot. Reserve some and play around try diluting with extra VG to cut through if you still find them too sweet. Might take a couple of goes and might over do it, which is why I suggest reserving some and keep tinkering with it mixing 1-2ml with different amounts of extra VG to find how it vapes and tastes diluted down even more that it should be.

Also the clearo/atomizer makes a difference. Some juices I prefer in a kangertech evod (bottom coil), some I prefer in an innokin iclear 16/ce5+ (top mounted coil and dual coil for bigger burn)

I'm still a newbie myself so I don't know much about the bigger setups that can last that long, but ego batteries are cheap so two is best so one can be charging while your vaping on the other. Works well for allot of us and I'd be interested in knowing if the larger batteries that say they last all day or longer loose charge overtime like our bloody smart/stupid phone do or are batteries actually getting better with technology?

Gonna answer these 2 together since they are related.
Something like a Vamo or Smok SID or an SVD is a good choice of first mod these days.

All rechargeable batteries lose power when stored, over time. An 18650 2000mah+ Panasonic or Sanyo battery lasts me a full day of vaping, these are Japanese made batts & use the best technology in their manufacture, I only trust Japanese made batts for vaping.

Hi Rhojin, are you looking for a better PV or better juice?
    What are you currently using?
The more info you give us the better we can help steer you in the right direction.

    Hey everyone,

I am from (WA) Perth, Freo area. Been smoking for some 20+ years, many many attempts to quiet. The last one lasted a little over four years, then sadly fell back into the habit. So happy to have found the e-cig and have been happily vaping for 7 days now, the last 2 days smoke free. Great to be here and loving all the information - look forward to meeting more of you in the forums. Hi to all the other new ppl :)

Thanks, I've been thinking of the SVD or VAMO, but once you include the charger and batteries it works out at over $100. At that price I might as well buy an eVIC which I read has upgradable firmware lots of stats on display etc. Where's the best place to buy the mods from?

if you dont mind the wait (well over 3 weeks) fasttech seems to have them for cheap (vamo, svd, batteries and charger) but if you need it quick, local vendors like vapeking, ecigmodshop etc have them too

2 batts(panasonic CGR18650CH 2250mah) = $10 approx(fasttech), JetBeam Interlicharger i4 Pro Charger(cheap but excellent) = $20 approx(Ebay), Vamo or SVD = $40 approx (fasttech), total = $70 approx(all with free shipping) & you have batts & charger to use with other mods too. With an eVic you are looking at an extra $30 approx & don't get the charger or the batts.
If you buy from fasttech allow for 4 weeks - 6weeks delivery.

I don't recommend ANY new vaper, that doesn't have gear, buy first kit from fasttech , ever!

Yeah new vapers without starter kits should get one locally first. Fasttech is for "ooohhh that looks nice and 13bux I can just spend on something I don't need but its so cheap I'm going to buy anyway"

Thanks, I ordered about 15 flavours... a bunch of VK triplers and the fruit sampler, trying them out now. Must say the Vanilla Custard is odd!!! Every other juice I've tried seems great though ... Currently hooked on Sweet Tobacco, VK4(unsure of the nutmeg taste) and cinnamon roll.
