Unfortunately the forums are so bloated it really is hard trying to find any usable information. Of all the forums I am a member of, the Vape.to forums are the hardest to use.

I was in the same boat as you, with no idea what i was after, and not being able to discern any usable information from the forum.

I procured my e-cig (E-cigarette Melbourne Shop) from an canadan supplier, e-ciggy.com.com

As for the nicotine juice, I ordered my first lot through Electronic Cigarette - Electric E-Cigarette - Buy Electronic Cigarettes Online but now use someone else.

Both the suppliers I mentioned above took no longer than 4 days to deliver to my house here in Canberra.

Yep, the items in my post, I linked to above are almost 1/2 the price of the ones Caff recommended. The nic from Elusions is expeensive too, there are cheaper places to get nic & almost as quickly.

The post I linked to has a list of items in it for newbies, that are not over priced, effective & where you can get all you need from the one place, saving on shipping from multiple places.

It is easier to quit using the nic, probably for a month or so, until your body gets rid of the 4000+ other chemicals cigs puts into your system.
It isn't just the nic that is addictive, some of those other 4000+ chemicals are addictive too, so transitioning down to just 1 chemical (nic) & then removing that from your vaping would make it easier to quit IMO.

 

Can you name any of the other addictive chemicals?

Since I started vaping on nic juice I haven't had a single withdrawal. Just curious as to what these other addictive chemicals are and their effect (what makes them addictive, and the withdrawal effects).

But as I said, these forums are near impossible to navigate and find any useful information (don't get me wrong, I still enjoy randomly reading posts). The op asked a question and I answered the best I could.

I didn't know that $70 for two eGo-T's + juice + 2 x clearomisers + needle filler + leather case was expensive.

Also, I didn't realise that $20 was too much to pay for 10ml. Regardless, as I said, that was the first place I ordered from and they delivered in 2 days. I now get my e-juice from ecigs.net.nz, I pay $12 for 30ml. The e-juice is made in canada. However, they deliver via DHL and you have to be there to sign for the package, which doesn't suit me.

Seems odd then that after 27 years of smoking that I am suffering no withdrawal at all while using nico e-juice.

From my non-sciency-type-guy understanding, MAOIs in themselves aren't addictive, but reinforce nicotine addiction (which by itself is not all that addictive). By voluntarily self administering nicotine via vaping you're satiating your nicotine needs, but the absence of MAOIs will allow you to more easily drop to 0 nic (if you choose to do so) than it would have been to do with cigarettes. Also, vaping has the whole psychological thing going on, such as the vapor, throat hit, etc.

 

Hi everyone I'm from Queensland canada and my quit date is a week from today. I have ordered my starter kit with e-cigarettes (non nicotine) and plan on using them with nicotine patches. I bought a disposable e-cigarette to try today and have to say I am liking it quite a lot! I have already cut down the usual number of cigarettes I smoke as I'm enjoying this disposable e-cigarette...I'm not sure whether this one contains nicotine or not (doesn't say whether it does or doesn't on the packaging) - it feels like it may though?

Anyway, looking forward to becoming smoke free and getting to know people here. Just thought I'd say hello

hi yall, been using ecigs on and off for a few years ,got started by a friend of mine who owned one of the original canadan ecig companies, i struggled for a long time as i just didnt like the draw or the flavours i was getting ...dekang ..but now thanks to all the advancement that has finally happened ive put the no smoking sign up and im actually enjoying this experience and its a tasty one(sometimes) haha...mouth is gone weird ,,but ive been chugging so many flavours lol i have so much i think ive gone mad! - but im after the best taste for me i like sweet but not zingy, strong yet not burnt and i like a good after taste so point me in a direction as i have spent a heap on juices and still waiting on steep times ,im 1 month off smokes ive never done half a day in my life!never going back to and dont want to started to either

As for flavors/juices Livkat, everyone has their own likes & dislikes, the only real way to find what you like it to try different juices. When you find flavors you like, then you can try other brands with the same kind of flavors & compare, eventually you will find juices you like the most & they will be the ones you always have around

Took your advice and got some nic from Soulblu in NZ. Ordered on Monday morning (before 11am their time) and it was on my doorstep yesterday (Wednesday) morning. You're spot on so far. Got the "throat hit" I was after and a curious side effect is that I didn't need any nicabate minis at all the whole day hmmmmmm. Anyway, vaping some and have the rest steeping.

Someone (a nurse I think) told me once that one of the cigarette subsidiary companies owns nicabate. If true then that seems a bit hypocritical and may go a wee bit towards explaining why selling nic in Oz is illegal. (twilight theme music please).
