Hello and welcome to all the fellow Wisps (newbies) :)

I too have only been Vaping for a short while, but the Lads and Ladies on Vape.to are very helpful and happy to answer any questions, remember the only stupid question is the one thats never asked!
Best of luck on giving up the Darts, 1 week today for me.

Have to agree on the different flavours to vape, when i first kicked off all i wanted was that ciggy taste, now a week in I am loving fruit/citrus flavours!

    Noe,

was wondering what the nic juice might taste like compared to the real thing, but never really expected it to taste exactly like cancer sticks.

I have given the cancer sticks away before but as do most I returned after about 3 months and I did notice the taste of thing was beginning to change.

Hi everyone. There is so much info on this board. Too much to take in at first.

I am a smoker of cigarettes and want to stop and want to try e-cigarettes. But have a hard time knowing where to start. Watched a few you tube videos.

So I just want to start ASAP. As I understand it - it is preferable for a smoker like me to start with nicotine e-cigarettes but you cannot get these in canada. So I am therefore looking to get my first e-cigarettes OS. I thought a simple start would be V2cigs in the US - but as shipping is a cost I want to get the order right.

But I have no idea how long a cartridge lasts - I have no idea what strength nicotine cartridges I should order. I have no idea what flavour is closest to normal Virginia cigarette taste.

Can anyone please tell me simple answers to these questions ? so I can just make a simple foray into this new world of e-cigarettes - I can learn from there.

I would appreciate any responses greatly.

Welcome Belisarius & other new vapers.

IMO what you want for your initial order is a 1-stop-shop, where you can get everything you need in 1 order.
Regardless of what you decide to order, this makes things very simple & means everything arrives at the same time, so you can get into it immediately you open it(well almost, make sure the batts are charged first).

For the same reason I recommend Health Cabin for first orders, they have a large range of products, they ship reliably(choose EMS shipping & you will usually have you goods in a week, 2 at most), their customer service is very good & their prices are good too. Plus they have everything you need, including nic juice to get you started.

I think the best solution for a new vaper is an entry level device, which will serve as a back up should you have problems with your mod later on, like these kits:
eGo K Vision Compact Kit V2 in 30 styles [02-F] - $18.99 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail two of these kits will have, 2 chargers( a spare in case one fails) 2 clearomisers & 2 batteries, all you really need to start vaping minus the juice.
Next you will want some juice my recommendation is 10x 10ml, 18mg/ml, pre-mixed juices in various flavors:
    Dekang E-juice/E-liquid for Ecigarette
    or
HC E-Juice/E-Liquid : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
Then also get some unflavored nic in 36mg/ml, 75/25 PG/VG, which you can mix later with canuk made doublers, so 1 or 2 x 115ml bottles:
    115ml HC Unflavored E-liquid [Z8 HC Unflavored 115ml] - $11.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

If you want to stop there, you can & will be able to start vaping with just what is above or if you want to try different clearomisers/tanks etc then these are some good ones to try:
3.5ml Ismoka BCC(Bottom Coil Changeable) Mega Clear Cartomizer [03-3A-4321] - $11.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
    5pc New CE3 Bottom Coil 510 Clearomizers [05-C-12] - $10.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
Innokin iClear 30 Dual Coil Clearomizer with replaceable coil (Crystal Gift Box) [05-H-3-2] - $10.00 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
Vision eGo Clearomizer V3 (Exchangeable & Detachable)

While not an absolute "must have" these come in handy sometimes for your eGo type batteries:
    500mA USB Power Adapter/Charger (US/EU/UK.com plug) [05-A-2-2] - $3.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
A bottle of PG & a bottle of VG will come in handy if you need to dilute your juice later on & it is cheap to grab a bottle of each at the same time:
    115ml PROPYLENE GLYCOL USP(PG) [Z4 115ml PG] - $3.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
115ml Vegetable Glycerin USP (VG) [Z4 115ml VG] - $3.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
Some empty mixing bottles will also come in handy, perhaps 4x 30ml & 4x 10ml to start with:
    Empty Ejuice Bottle(childproof) [06-D-23] - $0.25 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
A syringe is also a good idea to grab for measuring liquids & refilling some kinds of clearos etc, I would grab one of each size:
    E-juice Injector(1ml 2.5ml 5ml 10ml) Ejuice Injector /syringe [06-D-1-1] - $0.25 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
You will also want blunt tipped needles for your syringes, 4 of these, Long(XL) type:
Blunt needle for syringe [05-D-2-1] - $0.15 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

I DO NOT recommend v2cigs, overpriced, cigalikes for anyone!
If you want a cigalike, HealthCabin also stock them, look for a 510 manual starter kit. It will be much cheaper & perform the same as the more expensive V2cig kit but these will not work anywhere near as well as the gear I listed above.
If you decide you still want a cigalike & get the 510 kit, I recommend using these to put your juice in for vaping:
    5pc New CE3 Bottom Coil 510 Clearomizers [05-C-12] - $10.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

My order from VK which includes a pro tank, juices and a few other things arrived today but still waiting on my HC order to arrive, which has been in Syd since Sat.

This is crazy! I haven't even had a puff yet and I'm already feeling addicted to vaping.

I'm already jealous of all the shinies in that thread and now trying to figure out what my first upgrade is going to be?! Most likely a SVD with 18650 for home and 18350 for out and about.

There is no need to go crazy over mods, a lot of hype seems to have crept in on Vape.to in recent months, some warranted & some not but honestly, I started out vaping on an eGo-like kit & for the first 12 months used nothing but those 2 batts & some Boge cartos(1 per week on average).
I saved a lot of $ not buying big expensive mods & I was quite content with using what I had, vaping worked for me, just the same as it works now for me with my mods & I still use those original batts I got, sometimes.

Mods are great if you need longer run times or want to run lower resistances at higher power but I can almost guarantee over 50% of vapers that own mods could easily run a non VV eGo batt & get close to the same performance out of their set up.
What I'm trying to say is, don't feel like you have to rush in to get on the latest craze, do some research & first of all try to find out what vaping is for you, using basic gear. Then when you do decide to get a mod, you'll appreciate it that much more.

Yesssssssss Yodasan I know I too will someday see the error of my ways. I am a hyrid. Half grasshopper, half jedi..

But seriously, with cheapish mods, it's not a bad way to go through this phase. But I shall treasure my good good good good good one forever LOL

THANKS very much - very much appreciated response.

I gather Healthcabin are a US company - and what you are suggesting is that I create my own e-cigarette by adding the nicotine myself - and avoid cartridges as they are expensive. I assume that I just go to the website and they will have a heap of flavours including ones close to tobacco. I also assume this is how most people start that want to give up smoking and then they move onto different flavours over time.

Basically I just want to try out and see if I can get of the smokes and this seems an ideal way to do this. I can worry about the nicotine later.

I assume you also, like many, prefer the press button type over the.comtomatic e-cigarette types.

I have to say that the information available is just overloading and I do not understand all the things people are writing about. I do not know anyone who has used e-cigarettes - and it would be great just to meet one and SEE and experience the whole thing. But I assume the manuals and you tube vids get you thru the initial stages.

So I will follow your advice and go to the website suggested, order and start. To be honest the money side does not overly concern me to start with - just want to get off the cigarettes first - that will save a fortune and then if this all works out - make this cheaper by doing as you suggested. I will look for a 510 manual starter kit.

    Thanks again.

Noe I have just visited the Healthcabin to order. I went first to the starter kit section and went to order eGo K Vision V2in 30 styles. But then it asks me what style (K1-K30) and resistance (all 2.1-2.4 so no issue here) I want ? I have no idea what even style refers to. Can you suggest a style for me to order. I smoke mild/mid strength cigarettes presently so I think it best if I try to get as close to this experience as possible (if this helps ?). Thanks.
