When you first started, did you have any misconceptions? For example, I initially thought this is going to cost way more than it did before because of the cost of the rig. When I later realized was that the combined price of everything started saving the money as early as my fourth month in. How about you?

I figured it would be like my cell phone, ALWAYS having to charge the damn thing up!
I half expected to either carry around 10 extra batteries or be always on the lookout for an electrical power source.
I do carry around an extra battery (not in my pocket with my change anymore thanks to this community!) but I find I only have to tap into it a few times a week.

I assumed whatever the juice was would be just as bad as the chemicals in cigarettes. I just saw it as a cheaper alternative and a way to get rid of the cigarette smell. When I found out about the cost of a vape, I just thought it might end up costing as much as using cigarettes daily.

I for one thought that vape was something totally different. I thought that it was a portable shisha/hookah/water pipe. I thought so because whenever I smoked the shisha we would buy different flavours etc, so I only found out what I was doing was called vaping a few months later.

I was skeptical about vaping because it received a lot of negative feedback from click bait sites, and I thought it was going to be more cancerous than regular cigarettes. To be honest, I wasn't informed very well until I met this guy who was an avid vaper and he told me more about the whole process. Half of the people I know still believe that vaping is more dangerous. But I don't condemn them.

I have lots of misconceptions about vaping before I started it:
    • I thought it won't help me quit cigarettes. I have heard before that it doesn't have a throat hit. With some nicotine in it, I still get some nice throat hit although it doesn't compare as with cigarette smoking of course.
    • I thought it is just as unhealthy as cigarettes, if not worse. With proper research, I knew that vaping is leaps and bounds a better alternative to smoking. Tons of studies have already proven this as well.
    • I thought that secondhand vapour is also as bad as secondhand smoke. This one has been debunked as well.

I think the thing that put me off longer was the price. I thought that it would be too expensive and that if I didn't like it, it would money flushed down the toilet. I had bought a pipe when I was younger as it was the rage at the time and I used a pretty penny to buy it. When I bought it there weren't any cheap pipes, but I ended up not liking it, I thought that vaping would be the same thing.

I am not really sure what specific misconceptions that I had, but I do know that I had a lot and that my view on the whole vaping scene has changes a lot really since I was introduced to it. I think that when I first started I thought that it was a lot more like smoking than it really is, just in terms of feel and the habit forming part of it. It is not though, at least not for me, and it took a little getting used to when it came to things like that.

I thought that it was going to cost me a lot more than it does. I have friends who spend way too much, just because they vape too much (in my opinion) using expensive juices and puffing on it every second of the day.

When I first heard about vaping, I though that it would be still very bad for your lungs as the smoke would be irritating them and causing still some swelling if not some worse side affects. I came to learn that it is actually not too bad and I even found myself vaping too!

Mine was that an electronic device can't possible replace the good old sticks, for me there was no way I could just stick to this and fulfill my desire to "smoke". Only after a friend showed me how I should pick my vape tank and resistance based on how much I smoke per day was that I finally was able to resist a day without smoking, after that, I realized that I was looking at my own walls, demolished them and started looking beyond. Since them, I'm an ex smoker who is vaping all day long.

That's exactly it, people don't like change and stopping smoking and starting vaping is a very big change. I think it's only when we see vaping with a clear head and put all the misconceptions to the side can we truly think of vaping.

You're right, it's only after one sees beyond misconceptions and beyond his or her own imposed limitations that someone can really make a change. Sadly, most of people nowadays only sit in their comfort zone thinking that it will last forever the way it is, sadly, most of them are let down by either money or they own health, and after years and years of being unaware of the damage they produce to themselves, they start having regrets and wishing they would've done a change earlier.

When I first started vaping I thought it would be expensive and unhealthy. Now that I have started vaping, I've found out that the price is really reasonable and it's not unhealthy.

Yes, I also thought that vaoing would be very expensive too. I was afraid how much it would cost but it turns out it isn't very expensive.

I started back when only the cigarette-styled ones were popular, I mean the ones that looked just like them, way back lol. At that initial stage, I thought they sucked and that it would eventually die out. I was wrong and I am glad I was wrong at that because now I feel myself as a lot healthier than I was when I smoked regular traditional cigarettes.

That is probably the biggest misconception around vaping. I remember people saying that it was full of chemicals as if cigarettes aren't.

I personally thought that it was going to be harmful for my lunges, however I realized that it was not true because of some proof video I watched before I started vaping.

I remember how fast the things advanced, it was like one day I see someone with one of those cigarettes lookalikes, and after a few days I found myself vaping, with smoke boxes and all the nowadays things, it seemed like it advanced just in a week or so, I can't really think when all this time has passed.
I believe that it was a lot more expensive when the first vaping devices came out on the market, but the price lowered as new ones appeared, so your assumption might have been made on true facts in the first place.
