I want to step down to 0 nicotine juice. I switched over fully in 2013 and have not touched a cigarette since then. I experimented on and off with the Blu electronic cigarette in the beginning of my attempt to quit smoking around 2010, but it didn't really cut it for me. The flavors and hits were just too inconsistent. I feel that it is just time to step down now that I have been solely vaping for so long. I'm just not quite not sure what to do about the oral fixation on the other hand. Before I smoked I chewed gum, but I really have outgrown that habit from puberty and have no interest in going back to it. I am on the Kanger Sub Box right now and I just want to step down to 0 nicotine juice and maybe even make it myself.

Any suggestions to step down permanently? Should I wean myself off, or just go cold turkey? I am currently at 12mg of nicotine.

I think you should wean your self off. That way your body well get used to lets say 10mg, then 6mg, then 2mg and lastly 0! If you ditch it all together, it would be too much of a drop and your body will send you huge signs wanting you to go back to the 12mg. It's always good to go slow and take things step by step.

I guess that it's still a long way down, however if you want to go to 0 nicotine juice, why not just quit it for good? The only thing that gives you pleasure is the nicotine there, and when you take it out, it'll be like you inhale tea vapors, so you'd better consider quitting vaping for good if you want to go to 0 nicotine. Also, to answer your question, you'd better go cold turkey, always better if you want to quit nicotine, since you would deal with all the cravings at once.

I'm still on some nicotine, but I also plan on getting down to 0% nicotine. I think the best way to go about it is to wean yourself off as slowly as possible. I remember trying to go cold turkey and it was just horrible. It was nearly impossible to not think about lighting one up. Going slow and weaning is the most effective way in my opinion.

Definitely go for the slow play. You have to understand your brain is chemically used to having nicotine and it, and without it, you will experience hard-core side effects. Your brain is set up to have nicotine in it, so there is no nicotine, you have all kinds of chemicals that serve zero purpose which is as bad as having the nicotine unregulated in the first place. It is trading one chemical imbalance for another, and gradual reduction is much easier anyways. Enjoy the flavor.

Do you have any idea why it is so hard to quit smoking cold turkey? Especially because of that nicotine, but it's a thousand times harder quitting it by slowing it slowly, you only prolong the pain, many have tried that method and none succeeded. Just remember that time when you were trying to cut one cigarette a week, or once every 3 days, it worked? I don't think so. Do not give advice like going slow it's easier, because it definitely is not. Your brain won't simply adapt to you not giving it the same nicotine again as you suggest, you will start having cravings even if you lower the dose a little.

Wean yourself. It shouldn't really take a long time, but you need to do it at your own pace.

Personally, gradually tapering off my nicotine worked for me. Back when I was just starting to quit cigarettes, I vaped with nicotine in it. But I didn't also completely gave up the cigarettes, you would find me smoking at least three a day during those times. And little by little, I didn't need the cigarettes. Until again, slowly and little by little, I quit the nicotine in my vape as well. So in that sense, gradually lowering my nicotine intake worked for me.

I do know some people who had quit cold turkey. Some without the help of vapes and some with the help of vapes. In any case, try out for yourself if quitting cold turkey might work for you. After all, not all people are the same and you never know if this method might be your saving grace from quitting nicotine.

Lastly, have you tried nicotine patches? Ten percent of smokers have quit because of this. Maybe this can work for you as well.

    Good luck!

Yes, slowly doing that will help you a lot, going cold turkey will just make you want the Nic more because you have not adjusted your body to low Nicotine levels, so yeah, wean it out!

    All the best.

Yes, I am also trying to get down to zero nicotine just like you. It will be difficult but I am ready for the challenge. Hopefully, we will be able to defeat the urge.

Well, it can take a lot of time. The urges are not at all weak and it is very difficult to conquer it but with a strong will-power, one can defeat it. Heading step-by-step to your goal is a good idea.

When I tried to drop down to 0 nicotine I never bothered to take it step-by-step. Now I'm working on slowly weaning myself from nicotine slowly down to no nicotine.

Agree with the gradual steps. It'll definitely be hard but you have to believe in yourself and stay committed. If you get any urges make sure to do something else in order to distract yourself, and it'll all be fine.

I personally wasn't able to do it, but it doesn't mean you can't. I gradually lowered the amount of nicotine I put in and then kept on doing this whenever I felt ready to do so. Ultimately the nicotine craving beat me, but I'm going to try again real soon if I can muster up the courage.

Good luck to you and I hope you are successful!
