Think of buying cigarettes.

I stopped buying cigarettes and if I do have one it's because a friend gives me one, but I still get that feeling that I should go and buy a pack every once in a while. I have to always remind myself that I don't smoke anymore.
Does anyone else go through the same thing?

 

Do you smoke it? If so, that's the reason. Stay away from it and there won't be any distractions and reminders of your past addiction.

 

I do feel that way sometimes just out of habit. Once you stop smoking completely and you have your vaporizer around, you will feel the urge less and less. Like artyarson said, your problem may be that you still haven't kicked the cigarettes out completely.

 

I don't. Whenever I get that feeling I just grab my trusty vape and vape it out with the nicotine patch. What you are thirsting for is the nicotine, not the cigarettes. Once you vape a little bit with the nicotine packs, you should be all set and full.

 

Basically this is what happens, you're simply torturing yourself this way. However if you don't smoke that, just hold on tight, you'll get through, and before you have a cigarette again, tell yourself this "let's give it 4 months, after that I'll have all the cigarettes in the world" as that is about the time it takes your brain to recover from the addiction. Have you switched to a vaper or just quit cold turkey?

 

I used to at first, but after a while I've completely adjusted, and now I have absolutely no desire to smoke ever again. The power of vaping, I suppose.

 

Yes, I experienced exactly same thing when I shifted my habit from a smoking to vaping. One doctor told me that these urges are the part of the 'Withdrawl Symptoms' that you experience. These urges would go away if you wait long enough. You can defeat the urges and you can control it, my friend. By the way, vaping is a good alternative to smoking if your urges become completely uncontrollable.

 

It takes a while before the habit dies off. Do not feed it. Let it starve to death. You will be fine on the other side of the fence with the green grass, but your underwear got caught a little when you were jumping over. Just pull it off and keep going. What will the cigarettes solve? Less than the problems they cause. Fuck that.

 

Back when I was just new to vaping and still smoking, I always have to have a pack of cigarettes with me. It gives me a sense of security knowing that I have them with me in case a craving starts to come in. But as time passed by, the need for that pack of cigarette was gone. I started thinking less about cigarettes until eventually, I have no need ti buy them anymore. So maybe you will go through the same route and hopefully, when you've established your vaping, it will be easier to let go of the cigarettes. Good luck and take care!

 

I think it' more the act of going to buy the smokes then the cigarettes themselves. I don't feel it as much as when I started vaping but still find myself asking myself if I have enough smokes. Fortunately I don't actually go in and buy them. I think as has been mentioned it will go away with time.

 

I don't have this problem, but my best friend does. She will go buy a pack, not even thinking about it, and then she ends up smoking it just because she has them on hand. Trying to help her break that habit.

 

I truly agree on what is being said here, particularly that once one smokes a cigarette once in a while, this will only increase the desire
to smoke more cigarettes.

But on the contrary, one who continues vaping with no interruption of cigarette smoking will experience less urges to go out for a
(cigarette) smoke

 

Are there any vaping juices and vaporizers which genuinely taste like real tobacco? I tried a few of the disposable brands that Wal-Mart was selling and I could not get past how awful the taste was on them, not to mention they were hard to draw off of and my jaw was becoming sore. But the taste and smell from them was nothing like real tobacco, it was more like some sort of weird burnt caramel smell that I did not like at all. I would be willing to try switching over to vaping if I could find something that genuinely tasted like real cigarettes.

 

The problem is that you haven't decided wether you want to quit or not. If I were you, I would just stop smoking altogether and switch to vaping full time.

 

I used to smoke back in 2014 but I still smoke cigarettes because friends offer them to me, however I know what I am doing and I know that I would not fall in the same addiction twice, I am a counscious person and I think that I can handle that kind of situations now.
